Here is a recent write up of Corrie's activities at Triumf.

Corrie is one of the best known person at TRIUMF. He has been around since 1971 and he is such a helpful person with any type of computer problems, that almost everyone around refers to him as the one "who knowns it all!".

Corrie actually started his career at TRIUMF as a beam physicist/computer analyst after obtaining a PhD in physics from the University of Manitoba on (p,alpha) reactions in 1969 and a postdoc at the University of Indiana He quickly became an essential member of the team tuning the new cyclotron and shimming the magnet. Later he worked on REVMOC, a beam dynamics simulation tool as well as support for computing computing using the UBC MTS computers. In 1979, he left TRIUMF for a sabbatical exchange at SIN, the sister laboratory in Switzerland. Upon his return, he became head of the TRIUMF Computing Services group created when the first VAX system made it's apparition on site. During the following years, he has piloted the development and implementation of several software packages in support of the cyclotron and the experimental groups, to name a few: OPDATA, PLOTDATA, PHYSICA, EDGR. Some of these remain is use now in our lab as well as in several other research institutions around the world. Corrie is also very knowledgeable about computer advances and was involved in the search for a suitable system for the WestGrid High Performance Computing Cluster installed two years ago for the benefit of Western Canada scientific researchers.

In the recent past, Corrie has even found the time to make available to our community a huge pool of photos depicting the whole history of our lab as well as to keep up with the technological advances in printers, digital cameras, PDF and other gadgets. We all benefit of his advice before buying new equipment.
